Early detection saves lives.

Been Coughing For 3 Weeks or More? Your GP wants to see you

It is important to look after the health of your lungs. One of the more common lung problems in Trafford is lung cancer. Lung cancer is easier to treat when it’s found early. That’s why it’s important to know the symptoms and to see your doctor if you’re worried.

Smoking causes most lung cancers. Some people who have never smoked can still get it. If you are a smoker, or an ex-smoker it is especially important to get symptoms checked out.

What to look out for:

  • A cough that lasts 3 weeks or more
  • Changes to a long-term cough, such as becoming more frequent or severe
  • Coughing up blood
  • Shortness of breath
  • Chest pain
  • Loss of appetite or unexplained weight loss

In most cases, these symptoms will be something else. But it’s always better to get checked out. You don’t have to carry the worry.

Your doctor wants to see you. You’re not wasting anyone’s time. Getting an appointment is easier than you think.

Don’t delay. Book a lung health appointment with your GP today.

If you are a patient at another practice, contact your own GP to make an appointment.
