The Through The Front Door Project wants to help men in Trafford stay healthy. This page covers three important cancers: bowel cancer screening, kidney and bladder cancer, and prostate cancer – information below.
Finding cancer early saves lives. It is important to know the signs and symptoms. Get checked. Do it for yourself and those you love.
Bowel Cancer Screening
- What is it? A simple home test to check for early signs of bowel cancer.
- Who is it for? Men and women aged 52 to 74 in Trafford. It is soon to be offered to those aged 50 to 74.
- Why do it? Bowel cancer is common, but screening can find it early when it’s easier to treat. 9 in 10 people survive bowel cancer if caught early.
- How to get a test: You’ll be sent a kit through the post every 2 years if you’re registered with a GP. When you are sent a kit, remember to use it. Put it by the loo. Don’t put it off.

If you have lost or misplaced your kit, call the Bowel Cancer Screening Helpline on 0800 707 6060.
