Our aim is to improve the quality of life of our patients and give them appropriate information and support to manage their condition in the future. Patients are offered a comprehensive subjective and objective assessment either by telephone or face-to-face, followed by treatment where appropriate. Shared decision making and patient expectations are used to set goals and plan treatment. For some patients this will include combining skills and knowledge with other healthcare professionals to achieve the best possible care.
Our team includes physiotherapists, podiatrists, advanced physiotherapy practitioners, specialist pain physiotherapists, psychologists, nurses, and sports and exercise medicine consultants.
All clinical staff are qualified, chartered physiotherapists registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. This guarantees that their qualification is properly recognised, that they abide by a professional code of conduct and are covered by professional liability insurance. For more information see the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy website.
The physiotherapy team is supported by physiotherapy assistants, administration and clerical staff.
We regularly have physiotherapy students from Manchester Metropolitan University and Salford University join us for their clinical training placements.
You will always be asked if you are happy to be treated by a student who is under the close supervision of a qualified staff member. There is no obligation to agree and there are qualified staff to treat you if you prefer it.
