Trafford residents are being invited to share their views on local health services with a public engagement event on Thursday 26 September 2024.
Trafford General Hospital was the first NHS hospital in the country. Trafford has a long and rich history with the NHS, and our health and care professionals work tirelessly every day to provide NHS services for our communities. However, NHS Greater Manchester recognises the challenges it faces. Waiting lists are growing and people may struggle to access some services or find it hard to know where to go for help and support.
NHS Greater Manchester is keen to hear from people living and working in Trafford about their experiences with NHS services. With a population of more than 237,000 residents, the NHS ‘Fit for the Future’ event is an opportunity for local people to share their thoughts on what works well and what can be improved.
This is to help Trafford work towards their six priority areas including prevention of illness and long-term conditions, helping people to live well at home, planned care such as routine operations, urgent care services like A&E, children’s services, and mental health services.
The public will hear from some of the leading experts in Trafford on how they are working towards the priority areas. An interactive group session will follow for the public to share their views and listen to other people’s ideas. By prioritising the issues most important to the local people, NHS Greater Manchester can develop its services fit for the future.
Sara Todd, Trafford’s Place Based Lead at NHS Greater Manchester, said “We are really looking forward to the NHS ‘Fit for the Future’ public engagement event.
“It is a great opportunity for us to learn about what matters most to our Trafford residents and how we can improve our services. With this knowledge we can make the necessary changes to improve people’s experience within our care, and work towards healthier communities.”
The event will be held at 2pm until 4pm at Flixton House, Flixton Road, Urmston, M41 5GJ.
Booking is essential to attend this event. Book your place or call/text 07786 673762.
