For aids and adaptation ideas, Ask SARA!

Trafford Council want to support residents to stay in their own homes and live as independently as possible. When people are finding some day-to-day tasks and activities difficult, the council may be able to suggest gadgets, adaptations and equipment to help.

Introducing a self-help tool to offer residents new ideas within a few clicks of a mouse or taps of a phone, welcome to AskSARA.

Residents who land at AskSARA via the council website are asked a few quick questions about the support you need. The service will then suggest solutions in considerable detail, signposting to items you could order or even buy to improve and enhance your lives at home, at work and out and about in the community. It also provides more general tips, advice and guidance, as what equipment is available to support you.

Karen Ahmed, Director of All Age Commissioning, oversaw the implementation of AskSARA. She says: “This service doesn’t replace or bypass anything else we do, for example with our One Stop Shop, it is just another way that we can help people.”
