Why this matters
Cancer touches every community in Trafford. Found early, it’s more likely to be treated successfully.
Patient-led, community awareness is one of the easiest and best ways to change that. It reaches people who don’t always engage with their GP practice
What being involved looks like
This isn’t a big commitment. You’ll be part of a small group at your own practice, and you’ll:
- Meet other people at a Trafford-wide workshop in September
- Help spread the word about screening and symptoms with friends, family and your community
- Be a voice back to your practice about what stops people coming forward
- Choose one or two simple activities to get involved in locally, if and when you want to
There’s no pressure to do more than feels right for you.
Who we’re especially keen to hear from
We’d love to hear from anyone in Trafford. You don’t need any experience. We especially would love to hear from people who care for others, who have their own experience of mental health difficulties, or learning disability. Different experiences make this work stronger.
What happens after you register

- We’ll be in touch with more information and next steps.
- You’ll be invited to the workshop where you’ll meet others and help shape what happens locally.
