October 2025 has seen the launch of some new leadership arrangements across our integrated neighbourhood teams (INTs) in Trafford Local Care Organisation.
These new arrangements are part of a wider restructure on the NHS side of Manchester and Trafford Local Care Organisations as part of changes across Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. You can read more about this and see our new structure on our website here.
The majority of the neighbourhood changes are taking place in Manchester, where we are adopting the neighbourhood leadership model we already have in Trafford. This sees one neighbourhood lead working across two neighbourhoods with a focus on providing strategic leadership in our health and wellbeing community-based work. However, this has led to some changes in our neighbourhood leads across the Trafford and Manchester footprint.
We have welcomed Julia Worthington as our new Trafford Local Care Organisation integrated neighbourhood lead for the Central Trafford and South Trafford neighbourhoods. Julia joins from her previous role as integrated neighbourhood lead in Wythenshawe. She brings a great deal of experience and knowledge to the Trafford system and will help us build on the excellent work already taking place in Central and South.
Julia will work alongside Adrian Smith, who is continuing in his role as integrated neighbourhood lead in the North Trafford and West Trafford neighbourhoods.
Julia and Adrian will work closely together as we continue to develop neighbourhood working in the borough. These changes will bring positive benefits and are a great opportunity to continue to drive improvements in health and wellbeing, supporting the delivery of Live Well and other vital work streams.
We’d also like to acknowledge the fantastic work that Dan Shelston carried out in the role in Central and South Trafford over the last few years, which has already seen us make such great strides in joint community working across the neighbourhoods.
